Powered by TOTALCOACHING.COM, “the most efficient health promotion tool on the web,” I offer an online monthly climbing coaching service to a small group of motivated and experienced clients who primarily are interested in improving their sport climbing and/or bouldering abilities and performances. Since beginning my online coaching service in 2008, I have coached more than 50 adult climbers of all ages and ability levels from all around the world. During this time, my knowledge of athletic training methodologies has grown exponentially.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT; ACTION Personal Trainer Certification) and a Certified Yoga Instructor (RYT-200 with Yoga Alliance), and I continue to seek out and integrate the latest athletic training research into my coaching philosophy: I believe that almost anybody has the potential to improve his or her climbing ability, no matter how old you are or how long you’ve been climbing. Having an informed, educated coach to guide you along this path can be instrumental in achieving this success.

Please note that I do NOT teach people how to rock climb, nor do I offer rock climbing safety instruction. Please contact an AMGA-certified guiding service or guide if you’re interested in learning how to rock climb or improving your climbing safety skills.

TOTALCOACHING.COM allows us to work together to achieve your climbing goals, providing an easy and convenient way for you to record and track your climbing days, training workouts, nutritional data and more. Via this powerful online interface, we’ll work together to create a viable monthly climbing and training schedule. This plan includes a day-by-day schedule incorporating climbing-gym training, resistance/weight training, flexibility training and mental training elements. Clients check off each workout as its completed, adding details and feedback as well as asking any questions. I review each client’s workouts regularly, providing feedback and comments while also responding to any concerns and questions that might arise. Program changes are made on a monthly basis as appropriate.

 

I only work with a small number of clients at any given time in order to maximize the attention given to each client. The first step toward being accepted as a client is to attend a clinic at one of the events where I’m teaching, or alternately, to schedule a private consultation. This gives us the opportunity to develop a personal rapport, as well as to assess whether or not online coaching is a good fit for you at this point in your development as a climber. It also gives me a chance to evaluate your climbing skills in person.
